Creative Crossings Show

Fenceline
Acrylic on Paper
20" x  7.5"

This painting found a new home during the "Creative Crossings" show this weekend.
The snow really tried to put a damper on the event, but Holly and I with Martine Vermeulen (Curator) and Ann D. Wilkenson (Photography) greeted a nice crowd that showed up toward the end on the day and we all moved over to the Red Devon restaurant in Bangal for a reception.
The show will continue to run next weekend Saturday and Sunday 12-5PM in Stanford NY, at the Grange at 6043 Rt 82

High Contrast Sundown

Gouache on Paper
24" x 8.5"

I have been a bit obsessed with this image. I had to do it three times.
This is a situation when your eyes will make adjustments in light and focus that are very different from what a camera will see. Also there is no time, this scene just does not stay there so you can figure it out. In a blink it is gone.
So back in the studio with my memory, doing battle with what I recorded with the camera.

Golden Apples

Golden Apples
Oil on Canvas
36" x 24"

There is a foot of snow on the ground right now and this lawn is covered with deer tracks. The deer kick at the ground to find an apple or two. On the perimeter are coyote tracks, they are never too far away.
just finished this painting. I had started it in the fall and enjoyed eating the apples as I worked. Tree ripened Golden Apples are a joyful memory right now, though today was really spectacular, sunny and clear and much warmer than it has been.
